12 Bar Blues
Let's listen to some examples of the 12-bar blues form. Try playing along.

Real World Blues

Here's Eric Clapton's version of "Have You Ever Loved Woman," originally recorded by Freddie King.

Jimmy Page showed how creative he could be in the 12-bar form with "Since I've Been Loving You." This is a variation of the basic blues form in that it uses minor-7 chords instead of dominant-7 chords, a major-7 voicing, and a very original turnaround. But the essence is still a 12-bar blues form.
